Described as the smallest of its kind, the new M12 molded junction box is useful for maintaining, identifying and consolidating wiring from multiple I/O devices. The new junction boxes, such as the miniature 4-port, dual or single output models, allow OEM machine builders to reduce equipment weight and space requirements. The fully potted junctions are available in 4-pin single or 5-pin dual output-per-port versions with optional power and signal LEDs. The 4-pin model uses a M12 thread size connection for power to the box, while the 5-pin model uses an M16 connection. Both models have an integral cable option. The connectors come in straight or right-angle styles with high-flex PVC or PUR cable construction. Users can select as an accessory a separate tiny, splitter “tee” that allows two sensors access to each dual output port. The operating current is 4A per port, with a total operating current of 2A to 4A for 4-pin versions and 3A to 6A for 5-pin versions. The operating voltage is 10 Vdc to 48 Vdc, and the device has a IP 67 protection rating. TURCK INC., Minneapolis, MN. (800) 544-7769.
