Popular LED Module Doubles Power

Residing in a 1-mm² ThinFilm chip-in-stack package, the latest Platinum Stack DRAGON LED module delivers an output power of nearly 1W with a drive current of 1A, said to be almost twice the output of the company’s standard chips. The power increase is attributable to the ThinFilm chip, which exploits two p-n junctions that are grown or stacked one on top of the other. Allegedly, this stack technology achieves almost twice the optical output power compared to conventional IR ThinFilm chips.
