Gowanda Components Group boosts capabilities with acquisition of REM-tronics

Gowanda Components Group (GCG), a supplier of high performance and tight tolerance electronic components, announced Wednesday that it has acquired REM-tronics, a contract manufacturer of high-reliability products for the aerospace, industrial, medical, and military industries.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though Gowanda, NY based GCG stated that REM-tronics will maintain its operations in Durnkirk, NY under the new name Gowanda REM-Tronics. Along with Dunkirk, GCG has five other production sites in the U.S. 

“The merging of REM-tronics with GCG will further enhance our capability to design and manufacture high- reliability magnetic components and systems to address the needs of electronic design engineers in high-performance markets and applications around the world,” said Don McElheny, CEO of Gowanda Components Group. “Their proximity to GCG’s headquarters facilities in Gowanda, NY will enable us to readily nurture and pursue opportunities that leverage our combined strengths, to help our customers be successful."

For GCG, this is the eighth addition within the last seven years. Along with now Gowanda GEM-tronics, the other individual business units under GCG include: Gowanda Electronics, DYCO Electronics, HiSonic, Butler Winding, Communication Coil, TTE Filters, Microwave Circuits, and Instec Filters.
