Socket nav kit helps salespeople find their targets
Newark California-based Socket Communications is shipping a Bluetooth-based GPS nav kit, hardware/software designed to turn Pocket PCs, notebook and tablet computers into navigational aids for mobile sales teams. The technology purports to cut down on the number of wrong turns a salesperson might otherwise make when driving to see a client or prospect, thus it produces the benefits that could be expected from timely arrival.
“There is a strong business model supporting investments that reduce the number of wrong turns and increase mobile worker productivity per mile driven," observes Daniel Taylor, managing director of the Mobile Enterprise Alliance Inc., an industry association.
