The Automotive Occupant Restraints Council (AORC) has elected Wendell C. Lane, Jr. as chairman of its board of directors. Lane, formerly vice president of seat belt product engineering at TRW Vehicle Safety Systems, is currently group president for seat belts and steering wheels, North America, at Key Safety Systems, Inc. He has received more than 30 patents in the fields of drive trains, control systems and vehicle safety restraint systems.

The AORC is a non-profit, international organization that helps establish uniform production and quality standards for vehicle safety system components. Members include manufacturers and suppliers of airbags, airbag components, seat belts, automotive seating, and interior safety components.
