Hyundai Motor Company has purchased four SGI Altix servers and an SGI InfiniteStorage solution from Silicon Graphics Korea, a subsidiary of Silicon Graphics Inc..

The servers, powered by a total of 148 Intel Itanium 2 processors (www.intel.com) and running Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems (www.redhat.com), will be used for full car analysis, engine analysis, drag test and the prediction of airborne noise.
