National Semi names Macleod president and chief operating officer

National Semiconductor Corporation has named Donald Macleod president and chief operating officer. In that capacity he assumes some of the duties previously handled by Brian Hall, who continues as chairman and chief executive officer. Macleod had been executive vice president and chief operating officer. He joined National in 1978.
