The newest version of the Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) software, MEMCAD 4.6, has been enhanced to provide a single-software solution for turnkey design of biomedical, automotive, telecommunications and optical systems. In combination with the company's services, the application provides enhancements to model electrostatic spring softening effects in RF resonators and coriolis effects in gyros used in navigation and platform stabilization systems.
This release also includes Catapult, a Java-based 2-D layout editor claimed to be the first tool to directly address the requirements and design rules of MEMs. It includes several important features, such as curve fitting and all-angle data support. Pricing for the base MEMCAD sytem is $50,000.
