Chip Measures Acceleration In Range Of Computer Game Pads

Nov. 1, 1998

Offering measurement ranges of ±1.5g, ±3g or ±50g, this accelerometer chip has a sensor element constructed from single crystal silicon and glass to ensure excellent stability over time and temperature. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 125°C, and the unit weighs 1 gram. With typical applications in industrial and automotive areas, the device is used to measure acceleration in 3D game pads for computer games and suspension systems for agricultural and construction equipment, as well as to measure vibration and acceleration in both washing machines and earthquake detection devices. The device is available in an 8-pin plastic DIP, SMT or through-hole package with dimensions of 9 x 5 x 11 mm.
