Maxim adds high-voltage linear regulators for automotive applications

    Dec. 21, 2006
Maxim Integrated Products (www.maxim-ic.com) has introduced the MAX6765-MAX6774, high-voltage, low-power linear regulators that can deliver up to 100mA of output current for automotive and industrial applications.

Maxim Integrated Products has introduced the MAX6765-MAX6774, high-voltage, low-power linear regulators that can deliver up to 100 mA of output current for automotive and industrial applications. The devices operate from 4 V to 72 V and consume 3 µA of quiescent current, which suits them for always-on applications.

The MAX6765–MAX6774 regulators feature a push-pull or open-drain, active-low RESET-bar output with fixed or adjustable thresholds. The RESET-bar output asserts whenever the regulator's output falls below the reset threshold and it remains asserted for at least the minimum reset timeout period after the output voltage exceeds its threshold. The minimum reset timeout period is available with fixed values from 75 µs to 200 ms or it can be adjusted externally with a small capacitor.

The MAX6765–MAX6774 are available in a thermally enhanced, 3 mm x 3 mm TDFN package that can dissipate up to 1.951 W to support continuous regulator operation during high ambient temperatures, high battery voltage, and high load-current conditions. The MAX6765–MAX6774 are fully specified for a -40 °C to +125 °C operating temperature range.
