Nissan Motor Co. plans to unveil its electric concept car, Pivo 2, at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month. It’s a successor to the Pivo launched at the show two years ago. Powered by Lithium-ion batteries, the new version features by-wire braking and steering, a rotating cabin that eliminates the need for a reverse gear, and wheels controlled by in-wheel 3-D motors. The wheels can turn 90 degrees to allow the vehicle to drive sideways. Drivers communicate with the vehicle via a robotic agent that speaks English and Japanese.
