An Acura design team in Los Angeles working for Honda Canada used AliasStudio industrial design software from Autodesk to help design the 2007 Acura MDX sports utility vehicle (SUV). Autodesk reseller INCAT supported the effort.

AliasStudio offers tools for the rapid creation, evaluation and visualization of design ideas from concept sketches to engineering. Principal designer Ricky Hsu said the team used AliasStudio throughout its design to visualization workflow, and the tool helped reduce time-to-market constraints. He added that quick digital product design and prototyping allowed designers and engineers to preview the texture, reflection and lighting of various car components and continually refine the design.
