Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has released a surface-mount aluminum capacitor that enables operation up to 125 °C, and a white MiniLED in a 2.3 mm x 1.3 mm x 1.4 mm package.

The BCcomponents 140 CRH is a polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitor with a non-solid, self-healing electrolyte. Lead (Pb)-free and solderable under lead (Pb)-free soldering conditions, the device is intended to stabilize output voltages, filter unwanted noise, smooth dc voltage, buffer electrical energy, and decouple superimposed ac ripple current in automotive and industrial systems. It is charge- and discharge-proof, with no peak current limitation. It is rated for capacitance values from 10 µF to 680 µF over a voltage range of 6.3 V to 63 V and is available in 8 mm x 8 mm x 10 mm and 10 mm x 10 mm x 14 mm sizes.

Applications for the VLMW2100 surface-mount MiniLED include backlighting in automotive dashboards and switches. Offering the same classification and designation scheme as Osram (www.osram.com), the VLMW2100 is available in a 2.3 mm x 1.3 mm x 1.4 mm package, it offers a 60° angle of half-intensity, luminous intensity of equal to/more than 56 mcd, and a luminous intensity ratio equal to or less than 2.0 (1.6 on request) per packaging unit for bright, even lighting.
