Autonet Mobile plans to unveil at the Consumer Electronics Show a wireless broadband mobile network service that lets passengers in an automobile check e-mail, surf the Internet, play games, or communicate via Wi-Fi-enabled devices. The firm also said it will announce an agreement with a car rental company, reportedly Avis, to offer the service.

Autonet Mobile said its patent-pending TRU technology is designed to work on 95% of U.S. roads, regardless of driving conditions. The technology is said to enable seamless Internet connectivity, with dynamic automatic session management between high-/low-speed networks.
