SIEMENS VDO has succeeded in transferring piezo injection technology from the diesel engine to the internal combustion engine. This not only increases the power of the gas engines, but also reduces fuel consumption by up to 20%.

SIEMENS VDO has succeeded in transferring piezo injection technology from the diesel engine to the internal combustion engine. This not only increases the power of the gas engines, but also reduces fuel consumption by up to 20%. Furthermore, according to the results of the tests carried out so far, the proportion of unburned fuel is also improved.

The piezo direct injection system of Siemens VDO was presented in Geneva as a “high-precision injection system” for the first time in the new BMW twin-turbo engine. In spite of its high performance, the new BMW 3-liter twin-turbo engine is exceptionally economical.
