Agilent Technologies is marketing a scalable, small-footprint functional test system priced from $30k and suited for automotive body control and safety electronic modules.

The Agilent TS-5040, in a 0.75 m rack, can perform RF stand-alone tests on remote keyless entry and tire pressure monitoring systems, as well as a combination of low-frequency (ac and dc) and high-frequency (RF) tests. Eng-Hooi Ang, automotive product segment manager in Agilent’s Measurement Systems Division, said the TS-5040 is designed to meet low-cost manufacturing needs with either an Express Connect or a MacPanel interface connector assembly.
