Altera offers extended temperature range FPGAs

Altera Corporation (www.altera.com) said its Cyclone II family of low-cost FPGAs can now operate at junction temperatures from -40°C to +125°C in automotive electronics systems.

Altera Corporation said its Cyclone II family of low-cost FPGAs can now operate at junction temperatures from -40 °C to +125 °C in automotive electronics systems. The firm’s MAX CPLDs, HardCopy structured ASICs and Stratix FPGAs are also available for extended temperature applications.

Luanne Schirrmeister, Altera's marketing director of low-cost products, said the combination of Cyclone II extended temperature devices and Altera’s Nios II processor provides an embedded solution for automotive entertainment systems, navigation systems and telematics controllers.
