Freescale Semiconductor plans to use software from Agile Software Corporation for global collaboration and software from VI Technology for integrated circuit characterization.

Freescale will deploy two Agile 9.2 product lifecycle management (PLM) modules, Agile Product Collaboration and Agile Engineering Collaboration, to improve global collaboration and visibility among some 7,000 users.

Freescale vice president and chief information officer Sam Coursen said Agile “had most of what we needed in an out-of-the-box configurable application.”

Freescale will use VI Technology’s Arendar enterprise test software to help design engineers validate and characterize new silicon. The software is said to reduce the time and effort engineers spend sifting through test data and correlating results.
