XM’s Cook to head new automotive group

XM Satellite Radio (www.xmradio.com) has named Steve Cook to the new position of executive vice president, automotive, where he will focus exclusively on strategic partnerships.

XM Satellite Radio has named Steve Cook to the new position of executive vice president, automotive, where he will focus exclusively on strategic partnerships. Current partners include GM, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai and Nissan. The firm said that its annual factory installations are expected to double in the next two years.

XM also named My-Chau Nguyen senior vice president of marketing, planning and research, and Sean Connolly vice president of brand management and media. Nguyen joins XM from Sprint Nextel; Connolly was formerly with Intel. Both will report to chief executive officer Hugh Panero until a chief marketing officer is hired.
