Sensor Products LLC has announced an integrated tire tread footprint profiling system called Tactilus. Capable of thousands of uses with consistent repeatability, Tactilus detects a wider range pressures and offers greater advantages in the areas of adaptability and customization. Requiring fewer electronic components, its simplified design allows new levels of information sharing and portability. Plus, it is optimized to exploit Windows XP and the upcoming Windows Longhorn operating systems, as well as Bluetooth wireless technology.

The Windows-based Tactilus is offered in several architectures, namely capacitive, resistive and piezoelectric based matrix sensors.
