SST (www.sst.com) said it has expanded its licensing agreement with Freescale (www.freescale.com) to include SST's 180nm (0.18µm) embedded SuperFlash technology.

SST said it has expanded its licensing agreement with Freescale to include SST's 180 nm (0.18 µm) embedded SuperFlash technology.

Mike McCourt, vice president and general manager of Freescale's microcontroller business, said the technology will help Freescale migrate its 0.25 µm HCS12 family of 16-bit automotive microcontrollers to the next geometry 0.18 µm process. Freescale licensed SST's 0.50 µm and 0.25 µm technologies before migrating to 0.18 µm SuperFlash.
