QNX Software Systems and Freescale Semiconductor are collaborating to speed-up development of next-generation telematics, infotainment, and multimedia applications. Freescale has become a hardware sponsor of QNX’s OEM Innovation Labs (OIL) program for auto manufacturers, which now includes Freescale’s AECQ-100 certified MPC5200 embedded processor. QNX plans to support Freescale’s MPC5121e embedded processor, which targets automotive applications, and the firms will invest jointly to develop a board support package for the device.
