Chrysler has selected Visteon and Boston Acoustics to equip MY2008 Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger cars with Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound.

Dolby Pro Logic II creates a surround sound experience from any stereo (two-channel) movie, music or game audio source. A matrix surround decoding technology, Dolby Pro Logic II detects the directional cues that occur naturally in stereo content and uses these elements to create a five-channel surround sound playback experience.

"The technology is ideally suited for multichannel in-car audio systems," explained Visteon electronics vice president Steve Meszaros. "Visteon integrates the Pro Logic algorithm into its amplifier, which delivers its sound through the Boston Acoustics speakers."

Audio engineers from Visteon and Boston Acoustics work together to deliver audio systems designed to optimize each vehicle's interior environment; accounting for such acoustic factors as seat location, interior fabrics and materials, and speaker placement.
