44/50-GHz Spectrum Analyzers Slash Test Times

June 1, 2002

Two new members have been added to the company's Performance Spectrum Analyzer (PSA) family. They are said to provide engineers working in aerospace/defense, emerging communications, and cellular communications industries with unparallel speed, accuracy, dynamic range and sensitivity for measuring complex RF, microwave and millimeter wave signals. Promising to slash test times dramatically, the E4448A can handle frequencies of up to 50 GHz, while the E4446A, reportedly the highest performing 44-GHz spectrum analyzer on the market, features an intuitive interface and one-button measurement capability that allows results to be obtained easily and quickly. The new analyzers are code-compatible with existing 8566 and 8568 models, thereby reducing replacement costs as code rewrite is kept to a minimum. The new testers, as well as other PSA models, can also perform phase noise measurements up to 50 GHz. The E4446A costs $68,000 and E4448A, $79,000.
