PWM Chip Promises Best-In-Class Standby Power

Nov. 8, 2011
The FAN6756 PWM controller employs mWSaver technology to reduce standby power loss in the external circuit without using additional ICs, eliminating up to 15 external components.

The FAN6756 PWM controller employs mWSaver technology to reduce standby power loss in the external circuit without using additional ICs, eliminating up to 15 external components. It also relies on the AX-CAP discharge method to minimize losses in the EMI filter stage by eliminating the X-cap discharge resistors and discharging X-cap energy through the HV pin when power is off. Available in an eight-pin SOP, price is $0.71 each/1,000. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA. (800) 341-0392.
