The SuperServer 6015P series mission-critical 1U servers are designed for optimized availability and performance-per-watt. The 6015P-TR and 6015P-8R from Supermicro Computer Inc. feature redundant 700-W, high-efficiency (85%+) power supplies. The servers maximize system availability by reducing single-point-of-failure shutdowns. They also reduce energy costs and operate at lower temperatures than previous generations. Both SuperServer models support Intel's new Dual-Core Xeon 5100 and 5000 series processors (code named Woodcrest and Dempsey) with up to a 1333-MHz front-side bus. The 6015P-TR handles four 3-Gbit/s hot-swap SATA drives, while the 6015P-8R features four, dual-channel U320 SCSI drives.
The servers accommodate any combination of two PCI-Express or PCI-X add-on cards via butterfly universal expansion slots, and also support up to 32 Gbytes of fully buffered (FBD) DDR2 memory and Supermicro Intelligent Management (SIM). SIM offers cost-effective IPMI 2.0 server remote management with virtual media over LAN, KVM-over-LAN, and third LAN support. Using a SIM1U card, administrators can view a server's hardware status remotely, receive an alarm automatically if a failure occurs, and power cycle a non-responsive system.
