Typically used for filtering, protection, switching and discharge in applications such as cardiac defibrillators, industrial converters, inductive heating, energy storage, and electric vehicles, these power capacitors are now available from AVX following its acquisition of Thomson SA's passive components business (TPC). The caps are available with values up to 12,000 µF with a max. voltage of 36 kV.
