The company has expanded its line of infrared (IR) LEDs used for providing the illumination IR-sensitive equipment require to capture clear images in dark conditions, such as encountered in low-light rescue and surveillance operations. The devices withstand ambient light and EMI, as well as electrical and mechanical shock, enabling them to enhance the performance of night vision devices, wireless communications, navigation systems, etc. The IR LEDs come in three wavelengths (850, 880 and 940 nm), a variety of standard electrical bases, many LED configurations, and several angles of emission. And the IR LED lamps are said to use only 10% to 20% of the energy consumed by conventional IR lamps. Prices range from $30 to $300 each/1,000, depending on diode technology, number of LEDs, and lamp model. For more details, contact Jordon Papanier at LEDTRONICS INC., Torrance, CA. (800) 579-4875.
