Infinite Power Solutions unveils a major breakthrough in energy storage by achieving greater than 3 mAh of discharge capacity within a single cell of its thin-film micro-energy storage technology. Based on the company’s initial tests, this translates into 60 times more capacity than currently-available solid-state, rechargeable thin-film batteries.

Notably, this energy density improvement was achieved in a footprint roughly the size of a U.S. postage stamp: 25.4 by 25.4 by 0.17 mm. According to the company, this high capacity benchmark is the result of optimizing the lithium cobalt oxide layer deposition using a state-of-the-art physical vapor deposition process.
