Handheld Unit Houses Spectrum Analyzer

July 1, 1999

Claiming to be the world’s first true handheld spectrum analyzer, MS2711 is designed for use in field environments requiring mobility, such as for providing the spectrum analysis needs of cellular, WLAN/WPBX, and other communication systems. The lightweight (4.0 lb.), battery-operated unit spans a 100-kHz to 3000 MHz frequency range and offers a 90 dBm sensitivity, -74 dBc/Hz phase noise performance. A NiMH battery pack and built-in energy conservation feature extend battery life beyond 8 hours. The analyzer also offers a broad range of marker capabilities, such as peak and center, as well as delta functions and limit lines. And 10 test setups along with 200 measurement traces can be stored in the unit’s nonvolatile memory, with stored data downloadable to a PC via a RS-232 interface. MS2711 also comes with software.
