Accurate, 200-MHz DAC Settles To 16 Bits In 35 ns

Dec. 1, 1999

The SPT5510, a 16-bit d/a converter, is claimed as the fastest and most accurate device of its type on the market. The 200-MHz/s converter settles in 35 ns to 16-bit accuracy and in 15 ns to 14-bit accuracy with low glitch-impulse energy of 30 pV-s. The device offers high linearity (less than 1 LSB typical INL and DNL) and very fast settling and update rates. It’s suited for use in high-speed step-and-settle control systems, test and measurement instrumentation and RF communication applications.
