Available in an 8-pin microSOP and operating in temperatures from -40°C to +85°C, the DS1094L EconOscillator may be the industry's smallest multiphase, spread-spectrum clock oscillator with the widest temperature range as well. Output frequencies range from 31.25 kHz to 2 MHz in the form of four multiphase, spread-spectrum square-wave outputs. To reduce peak spectral energy at the fundamental and harmonic-clock frequencies, the device employs 0%, 2%, 4%, or 8% dithering of the master oscillator. This approach is also said to significantly reduce system-level electromagnetic interference. Target applications for the device include clock generation in switched-mode power supplies. Pricing begins at $1.93 each/1,000. DALLAS SEMICONDUCTOR, Dallas, TX. (800) 998-8800.
