The CC2530 constitutes a complete 2.4-GHz rf system-on-chip solution that supports the IEEE 802.15.4 standard and an extensive set of applications. The device integrates an rf transceiver with up to 256k of flash memory and a DMA, GPIO, USARTs, ADC, and timers. It also incorporates an enhanced 8051 microcontroller (MCU) and 8 kbytes of RAM. The memory and extensive peripheral set accommodate a wide range of applications, such as ZigBee PRO networks, ZigBee RF4CE remote controls, smart energy, home and building automation, environmental monitoring, and wireless medical. In addition, the company supports the system with free, downloadable software and tools to ensure that customers have everything they need to complete system development. Compatible devices include the CC2590 and CC2591 2.4-GHz analog front ends (range extenders) and MSP430 ultra-low-power MCUs. The CC2530 is available now in a QFN-40 package.
