The cRIO-9075 and cRIO-9076 integrated chassis and controllers promise to lower the cost of the CompactRIO platform for embedded control and monitoring applications.

EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE, MAY 2011 – The cRIO-9075 and cRIO-9076 integrated chassis and controllers promise to lower the cost of the CompactRIO platform for embedded control and monitoring applications. The new integrated systems combine an industrial 400-MHz Freescale real-time processor and four-slot chassis with an embedded, reconfigurable Xilinx Spartan-6 field-programmable gate array (FPGA) for custom timing, control and signal processing capabilities. Naturally, the systems are programmable with LabVIEW. The cRIO-9075 and cRIO-9076 are viable for embedded control and monitoring applications such as in energy, medical and robotics apps that require a short time to market, advanced control algorithms, and high-speed analog and digital I/O. Prices for the cRIO-9075 and cRIO-9076 start at $1,299 and 1,999, respectively. NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS, Austin, TX. (800) 258-7022.
