Energy Micro adds 64-pin devices in QFP64 packages to its EFM32 Gecko and Tiny Gecko product lines. The devices are particularly popular in the smart metering market. The 12 larger I/O count MCUs are variations of the company’s ARM Cortex-M3 based microcontroller portfolio. The EFM32G232, EFM32G842, EFM32TG232 and EFM32TG842, which are available in various configurations of Flash memory ranging from 8 to 128 KB and RAM from 2 to 16 KB, offer the same energy saving Gecko technology as other package options in the EFM32 MCU range.
