For emerging energy metering/monitoring applications, the MSP430F673x/F672x family of ultra-low-power 16-bit microcontrollers (MCUs) guarantee no interruption of operation. The devices support real-time clock operation and power management from the main power supply and up to two auxiliary supplies. Hosting 24 MCUs, the F673x/F672x family also achieves precise measurements via faster sampling rates and better linearity over multiple operating conditions, i.e., current range and time. They are the company’s first 6xx series MCUs with integrated 24-bit sigma-deltas and a 320-segment LCD controller. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
