Featuring a single-LED design, the device is also claimed to offer higher efficiency at a lower cost compared to conventional LED-array backlights. Using a single LED design and a unique lensing scheme enables the device to reduce power consumption by up to 86% compared to electro-luminescent backlights. The B-MLA is currently available for custom designs and volume pricing depends upon the customer's specifications.
