A new ultraminiature open frame switching power supply has been designed to achieve output power ranging from 10W to 15W. Measuring as small as 2.28"L x 2"W x 0.56"H for the 10W version, all models of the ASL global performance series employ mini-sized Molex style I/O connectors. All models accept universal input from 85 to 265 Vac, and 10 models produce single outputs of 3.3 to 24 Vdc. The ASL series supply has corner mounting holes and a connector pin-out and mounting size compatible to industry-standard products. Features include single-sided construction for high-reliability, an integral power-good LED indicator and an output adjustment potentiometer. All models will operate over the temperature range of 0°C to 50°C without forced cooling or output power derating. Short circuit protection circuitry and internal input filtering are part of the design. The ASL series is fully approved to EN60950 / UL1950 safety specifications and is also available in medically-approved versions. Pricing starts at $29. ASTRODYNE, Taunton, MA. (800) 823-8080.
