Addressing the market for super-bright, surface-mount LEDs, the TLMS3100 and TLMS3101 super-red LEDs are based on GaAsP plus GaP technology and feature a typical wavelength of 628 nm and a 60° angle of half intensity. The TLMS3100 provides a typical luminous intensity of 15 mcd with a forward current of 20 mA. With the same forward current, the TLMS3101 delivers a typical luminous intensity of 25 mcd. Intensity ratio options of 2 or less and 1.6 or less for either LED are available. The LEDs are rated for operation over a temperature range from -40°C to +100°C and have a maximum junction temperature of 100°C. Measuring 3.5 mm x 3 mm and 1.65 mm high, the LEDs come in a EIA/ICE-standard P-LCC-2 that consists of a lead-frame housing, embedded in a white, reflective thermoplastic package. Available on tape-and-reel, prices for the TLMS3100 and TLMS3101 are $5.12 and $5.36, respectively, each/100. VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY INC., Shelton, CT. (203) 445-5501.
