Software Builds Pattern-Matching Virtual Instruments

Nov. 1, 1999

The latest version of the firm's IMAQ Vision software enables designers to build versatile vision applications that incorporate high-speed pattern and color matching. Version 5.0 builds virtual vision instruments for LabVIEW, the firm's graphical measurement and instrumentation software. IMAQ Vision 5.0 quickly and accurately locates objects regardless of size, orientation, focus or lighting. Pattern matching is achieved through use of an image algorithm that's said to run more than 100 times faster than traditional pattern matching using gray-scale correlation algorithms. In addition to pattern matching, IMAQ Vision users can now measure, compare and match colors. The software gives users the ability to perform cost-effective vision inspections in industrial and laboratory applications.
