Low power and heat dissipation and a long operational life (>90,000 hr.) are among the characteristics expected to propel a new line of T-1-sized midget flanged LED lamps into the market for control panel indicator lights. Specifically, they're designed to replace standard filament bulbs, whose lives are shorter and efficiencies lower than the LED devices. The new lamps use a high-intensity, single-chip LED and offer a wide, 120° viewing angle, an operating current of only 17 mA, and a lamp polarity configurable with the center contact as either the anode or cathode for extra design versatility. The T-1 LED lamps come in red, amber, blue, white, green, orange and turquoise colors and can be used as direct replacements for 6, 12, 18, 24 and 28 Vdc filament bulbs. Operating temperature range is -40°F to 185°F and applications include pushbutton switches, annunciator lights, caption/warning indicators, and more.
