The CP8000, an industrial, rack-mounted CompactPCI enclosure, can be used in a variety of applications, including telecommunication, medical instrumentation and wireless systems. The 9U-high enclosure comes standard with an eight-slot CompactPCI backplane for 6U cards and can accept special telephony backplanes. It also accepts a wide spectrum of plug-in CompactPCI CPU cards with processors such as PowerPC and Pentium. Dual 250W, hot-swappable power supplies allow the system to continue operation if one supply falters. Three 5.25" or 3.5" front-accessible, horizontal, shock-mounted drive bays are located behind the front panel door. Positive pressure cooling is accomplished by three 4.7"hot-swappable, high-efficiency ball bearing fans located below the card-cage. The control panel consists of a recessed power and reset switch with power-on and hard-drive LEDs.
