Broadcom Delivers Industry’s Most Integrated PoE Controllers

Assuming position as the market's most highly integrated power over Ethernet (PoE) devices, the 4-port BCM59101 and BCM59103 PoE PSE controllers provide power to networked devices in enterprise, small-to-medium-sized business (SMB) or residential environments using the Ethernet cable infrastructure. The BCM59101 (IEEE802.3af-compliant) and the BCM59103 (pre-IEEE802.3at) controllers provide a single-chip design that results in 30% fewer components and easier PCB layout. The BCM59103 goes beyond the original IEEE802.3af specification to provide 37W per port, for wireless, video, and security applications while the BCM59101 delivers 15.4W per port. Both devices are pin compatible. Other shared features include integrated power MOSFETs, a dc/dc controller, ac disconnect, and LED control circuitry.
