Ensuring accurate and stable operation over a wide range of I/O voltages, the HV9982 three-channel LED driver employs a fixed-frequency, closed-loop, current-mode control architecture. Providing RGB backlighting or powering multiple strings of white LEDs, the chip's high-side current sensing allows it to work in buck, boost or SEPIC configurations while delivering ±1% current accuracy between strings. Each channel can drive an LED string up to 200V with an efficiency beyond 90%. Other features include a 40V linear regulator providing an 8V power supply to the IC. Available in a 40-lead, RoHS-compliant QFN package (HV9982K6-G), pricing is $3.03 each/1,000. SUPERTEX INC., Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 222-9883.
