Allowing discrete backlighting of keypads using metal domes for tactile response, the HoleyDome and HoleyDome on Post designs allow the rubber and metal dome to stay in contact, enabling excellent light transmission and desirable tactile feel. Advantages are multiple discrete key backlighting, low cost backlighting applications, consistent and reliable tactile response, long life, replaceable LED light source, and no requirement for special drivers or inverters. Typical actuation force is 450g, ±100g, with a key life of 750,000 actuations minimum. Switch assembly package thickness is as low as 0.090''.
