Touted as a space-saving alternative to fiber optic sensors, the UZB 5/6 series of ultra-compact photoelectric sensors comes in a self-contained package occupying only 2.5 in.2 of space. The series achieves long distance sensing despite its compact size of only 19 mm x 8.2 mm x 10.5 mm deep.
The emission area of a dot light source is smaller than that of a conventional LED flat light source and it is possible to design a high power, narrow beam. The red LED dot light source makes alignment and confirmation of sensing position easier, it's claimed. Its through-beam type incorporates a visible narrow beam to detect small parts. The device also comes with a sensitivity adjuster. Call for pricing.
