The DA9031 Power-Management Controller IC targets multimedia applications in PDAs and wireless handsets based on Intel's Bulverde processor.

Packaged in a 196-pin ball-grid array (BGA), it features a myriad of voltage regulators; LED, speaker, and vibrator drivers; and battery-charging functions. One particular regulator, a buck converter, supports Intel's Dynamic Voltage Management. It adjusts the supply voltage according to microprocessor operating frequency.

Unit pricing is $5 in quantities of less than 100. Samples of the DA9031 power-management controller IC will be available this quarter.
