A new white LED, the Advanced Power TopLED Plus, is optimized for architectural and retail lighting. The device combines excellent brightness with high luminous efficiency of up to 90 lm/W in a robust package. Typical applications would require bright light but with a very limited space, such as highlighting architectural edges and contours or for illuminating surfaces in uniform light. The LED has a luminous flux of up to 27 lm (100 mA/5700K). On the average, it is 15% brighter than the standard version and is available in different while tones ranging from 2700K to 6500K. The LED has a typical beam angle of 140° and homogenous white color from every viewing angle, Its small dimensions enable light to be mixed in the smallest of spaces, producing more homogenous light on a surface than a few larger LEDs. The device is specified for a connected load of up to 0.5 W. Heat is efficiently dissipated via gull-wing connections to the lead frame and the PCB, so no thermal management is required. The Advanced Power TopLED Plus will be available this summer. OSRAM OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS, Sunnyvale, CA. (888) 446-7726.
