Groomed for white LED flash applications, the AAT3172 current-output charge pump delivers up to 600 mA of current across dual, regulated current sinks. Each LED channel is programmable in 32 steps with a single GPIO output through the device's advanced simple serial control interface. The pump combines a load switch (1x) and fractional (1.5x), and doubling (2x) capabilities with a sensing circuit to match output to LED requirements. The 1x and 1.5x modes allow minimum current draw from the battery during lower LED current operations and the dual current sinks allow for single- or dual-flash configurations. The device requires four external components: two 1.0 μF ceramic capacitors for the flying capacitors, one 1 μF capacitor for C,IN, and one for COUT. Other features include a thermal management system and soft-start circuitry. Available in a Pb-free, 12-pin 3 mm x 3 mm TDFN package, price is $1.82 each/1,000.
