Introduced as the industry's first surface-mount LEDs to have built-in domed lenses, the LXL1307 and LXL1209 series LEDs combine the domed lens on top of a flat-bottomed carrier. The dome permits the new SMT LEDs to focus the light to a narrow, 50° angle of emission versus a wide, 130° to 180° angle for conventional SMT LEDs. The LXL1307 series is packaged on a chip carrier with a 3.2 mm x 1.6 mm footprint. The high point of its lens measures 1.8 mm above the mounting plane. Available in super intensity red, super orange, super red, super yellow, and ultra-super blue, light intensity for LXL1307 LEDs is as bright as 1,500 mcd. The LXL1209 series comes on a chip carrier with a 3.2 mm x 2.4 mm footprint with the high point of its lens measuring 2.6 mm above the mounting plane. It is available in the same colors as the LXL1307 series. Typical pricing for a super red LXL1307 is $0.05 each/1,000 with delivery times from six to eight weeks.
